"Human is forgotten in the talk about CO2 consumption"

 

 

 

The award-winning photographer Jacob Dall has travelled the globe around to document the human consequences of climate changes to mankind. Now he comes to Utzon Center with his photo exhibition "Climate Change Documentary"

Ethiopia 2008. People are starving because of prolonged drought, their cattle are dying, and there are disputes about water resources. Bangladesh 2009. A powerful cyclone strikes the coast and floods destroy thousands of human basis for living.

 


This is just a narrow selection of the places where the photographer Jacob Dall has documented human consequences of climate changes with his camera. 
"When people talk about climate changes, it is mostly about the large emissions of CO2 and the ice that melts in Greenland. The human consequences are forgotten, although many millions of people already suffer because of the changes. Therefore I think, that it is very important to focus on that part of the problem," says Jakob Dall.

 


The exhibition "Climate Change Documentary" also shows how people try to find solutions to climate changes in their everyday lives. Like the girl from Nepal who interfere cow dung and rice straw as fuel instead of taking wood in the rainforest.

 


 "The planet will continue to exist, while humans will be hit the hardest. We must help the people affected and ensure that development does not continue," says Jakob Dall.  The exhibition "Climate Change Documentary" runs from 10 October - 15 November 2009. The images in the exhibition are supplemented by text about each country's climate challenges and solutions.
