The Utzon Archive

Thanks to Rector Finn Kjærsdam, Aalborg University has succeeded in obtaining the first half of the amazing collection Utzon / Utzon archives to Aalborg.

Without the architect Jan Utzon's process and care for the entire collection, was the stunning collection hardly in Aalborg.

All material is now in Aalborg City Archives section of the new Archives of West Mountain. Once all records are recorded, as expected has happened in the middle of 2012, students, researchers and others could draw on the material.

Utzon Center's ability to display portions of the collection is written into the contract, and it offers great new and interesting opportunities. We aim to have permanently changing effects from Utzon collection exhibited in the Utzon Center. In addition, the collection's presence in Aalborg possibility of changing exhibitions, and we have already cleared the Exhibition Hall 1 in august of this year to show a wider range of Utzon Collection.

There is established a working group meeting consisting of the chief librarian Niels-Henrik Gylstorff, Aalborg University, Department Michael Mullins, Architecture & Design, city archivist Jens Topholm, Aalborg City Archives and Managing Director of the Utzon Center Anni G. Walther.

Utzon collection is provisionally the last pearl in a long series: First beat Aalborg Utzon Center. Then came Utzon Park and the book "Utzon Utzon Center". Thanks to The Obel Family Foundation acquired the Utzon Foundation in 2011, the splendid villa Can Lis in Majorca, made ​​available to architects, scientists and others from around the world.
